Vegan/Gluten Free Turtles

This will just be a short post.  I don't have a lot to report today, in the way of food, but I did want to share a picture of the turtle candies I made today.  They taste PHENOMENAL!  I got the recipe from Rachel Gutierrez's blog, Almonds and Avocados.  Love her and love her blog.

Mine don't look as pretty as hers but they taste wonderful.  Also, I am now currently obsessed with Lucuma powder (one of the turtles' ingredients) and am trying to find other ways to use it...

Ooh!  And I'm also planning on doing a raw desserts workshop at the yoga studio where I work (sometime during the month of March) and here's what I've done on my poster so far:

  1. OMG that poster is adorable!!! How amazing that you are going to run a workshop, I'm so impressed and proud of you for actually going out there and pursuing your baking business and for teaching others that vegan/raw food can be tasty!

The turtles look amazing!! I'm heard of lucuma powder but don't know much about it. It is a sweetener?

  2. THank you so much Sarah! I do a lot with cut paper and that's what I did for the poster. It's obviously not done yet but I'm having a lot of fun working on it :)

As for the turtles, they are AWESOME!! Are you familiar with Rachel's blog? I just found it and am so glad I did :) The turtles are so perfect--not too sweet, which I like, and lots of textures going on, which I know YOU know I like, from having left a previous comment about that ;)

Lucuma powder is slightly sweet and kind of adds a caramel-y flavor. I just learned about it and I really, really like it. It made the caramel center of the turtles so spot-on and I've recently started adding it to certain smoothies too ;)
